SUMMARY:ChipCraft: The Art of Chip Design for Non-Experts (Crane\, Indiana)
DESCRIPTION:Abstract\nThis intensive two week course equips participants wi
th essential knowledge and hands-on experience in chip design\, testing\,
and debugging. Through project-based learning it covers the fundamentals o
f chip design and testing\, culminating in the fabrication of silicon chip
s. It is ideal for beginners seeking to develop hardware know-how.\n\nNo P

backgrounds\, as no prior experience with hardware is necessary to excel i
n this course.\nInstructor\nSteve is the founder of Redwood EDA\, a startu
p focused on next-generation digital circuit design and the democratizatio
n of semiconductor technologies. He is actively driving forward the Transa
ction-Level Verilog standard and provides the Makerchip online IDE for ope
n-source semiconductor design.\nFormerly\, as an engineer with DEC\, Compa
q\, and Intel\, Steve designed components for Alpha\, Itanium\, and x86 se
rver CPUs and network architectures. Steve holds a BS in electrical engine
ering summa cum laude from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MS in c
omputer science from the University of Illinois.\n \;\nTarget Audience
